About me and my therapy practice

I am currently conducting sessions via secure online video calls for my own safety and that of my clients. No tech ability is required :). Please contact me for information and availability.

I am a person-centred therapist with a huge belief in the human ability to heal and grow given the right conditions. I feel really privileged to be invited by clients to accompany them as they explore and resolve their distress, often discovering who they really are in the process.

Trying to find the right therapist can feel a daunting prospect, particularly when you’re feeling vulnerable. I welcome you to contact me to arrange a no-obligation meeting so you can assess whether I feel like the right therapist for you.

I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from The Norwich Centre; this is a BACP Accredited Course. I have trained and worked as a volunteer counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Care Specialists and Time Norfolk, specialists in Pregnancy Loss through termination, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy and stillbirth. In addition to my Private Practice I also currently work as a volunteer counsellor with two low-cost counselling centres in Norwich: 4Cs and St Barnabas. I have experience working with a wide range of issues.

My first session

The first time we meet it is to see if we feel that we could work well together. The relationship is a crucial aspect of therapy so this session is all about finding out about each other. You might like to get a feel for how I work, see what my therapy room is like, and ask me questions. I would like to find out a bit about you, including what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get from it.

I will briefly cover my approach; confidentiality; fees and my cancellation policy; whether you are looking for open-ended, short-term, or fixed-term counselling, etc

Ultimately, the first meeting is exploratory, we are both wanting to find out if we think we would be a good 'fit'; in my experience this is usually known quite quickly and gut instinct can usually be relied upon. Therapy is a collaborative process; the initial meeting is about finding out if we would make a good team.

I charge a lower rate of £35.00 for this exploratory session, which may last up to 50 minutes.
