About me and my therapy practice
Much of life is outside of our control, and it can be valuable to learn new and different ways to handle things in the way that you’d like to. I am a therapist who uses an integrative approach to work with you towards goals that you set. You could be to working with something historic in life or working towards a change that you’d like to make or adjusting an unhelpful core belief you hold.
I work regularly with young people (11+) as well as with adults in private practice and feel our relationship is a key aspect of our work together. Our time together will be non-judgmental, honest and confidential, where you can begin feeling safe to open, share and look at some of things that have caused you concern. I use a range of tools, such as sand trays and creativity, visualisation and goal setting, as well as our conversation to explore emotional connections, what drives you and how to build where you’d like to.
I offer single session therapy sessions. These are used with the intention of helping in that session without the plan for any future sessions, but with the knowledge that more help is available if you choose. Like continued counselling, these are also carried out after an initial conversation and some key information provided by you.
My first session
Our first session will be at no cost and will be slightly shorter session, 20 minutes instead of the usual 50. We use this time to meet each other and discuss some of the reasons that bring you to therapy. It will be an opportunity to make sure you feel comfortable, and that we're a good fit. I will provide you with a document that outlines details around confidentiality and my practice and asks you a few questions about yourself, that I will ask you to read and return before our second session.
