About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have 10 years experience working with adults, children and young people in schools and private practice. In both settings I have enjoyed working clients who have a range of neurodivergencies (ASD, ADHD, Dyspraxia, High Sensitivity, Dyslexia)
I offer one to one counselling in a safe, confidential space.
There are times in our lives when we can feel overwhelmed, struggling to cope with stress, anxiety, depression or trauma. Sometimes we may feel alone and stuck with our difficult thoughts and feelings - some things we may not feel comfortable discussing with friends and family.
Counselling can help.
It can help you to see things from a different perspective, find clarity, feel less alone, and discover the resilience and courage to move on.
Finding the right counsellor for you is very important. As a person centred therapist, I believe that the relationship between us is the key. We will work at your pace, I will never tell you what to do or who to be, or what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. You already have this knowledge. By exploring things sensitively together, and deepening your understanding of yourself, the aim is that you will begin to feel more clarity, and feel deeply supported in whatever choices you make and actions you take.
By listening deeply, understanding your experience, and exploring the world from your perspective, I walk alongside you as together we find the right path. The path may lead you to make changes, to acceptance, to deeper understanding of yourself, and to living your life in a way that truly reflects who you want to be.
Practice description
Currently I work face to face from my home in Lee, and am also happy to work remotely (Zoom, FaceTime, telephone)
We will find the best way of working that suits you. As an artist I often work creatively with my clients, using imagery to help explore what's going on for you. I provide materials for drawing or painting if that is right for you, but have also worked with many clients who prefer to work without images.
I aim to provide a safe supportive environment in which to develop a trusting relationship, one in which you will be heard with respect and without judgement. We will work together to explore any troubles or concerns, and towards a place in which you feel less 'stuck' and are able to move forwards.
My first session
If you feel we would work well together please contact me by email or phone and we can book an introductory session. During this first session you will be able to talk through your concerns and experience how I work to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
