About me and my therapy practice

EXISTENTIAL THERAPIST

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from York St. John University. I have provided one-on-one counselling in person, over the phone, and through Zoom at the York St. John Counselling and Mental Health Centre since 2018, and I work as a Counselling Team Leader for the RNIB (The Royal National Institute of Blind People).

Hello, I'm Matthew.

Sometimes it can be too painful or difficult to face things and our attempts to escape them can cause just as much discomfort. I’ve been there, and the counselling I received was so transformative I decided to train as a therapist and dedicate myself to helping other people who are struggling — I know that things can get so much better, no matter how bad they seem.

I specialise in helping you explore and make sense of how you think and feel about yourself, the people around you, and your circumstances — and what your options are for moving forward.

I offer a respectful, supportive relationship in which to work through things and I’ll always treat you as a person, not a puzzle to solve.
