About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling a bit lost, fearful, stuck, confused or unhappy but you're not sure why?

Maybe you're struggling with work, relationships or just not coping with what life throws at you. You might have lost someone or something important and you’re not sure how to make sense of it, how to adjust, or where you fit in life.

Working with a counsellor can really help to unravel such confusing thoughts, feelings and the fear of uncertainties. It can give new perspectives on how you live your life now and how you see your hopes for the future. It can bring deeper self-awareness and help you to grow a healthier relationship with yourself, as well as with others.

I'm passionate about supporting clients to find their voice and to find a way to express their uniqueness. I'm warm, respectful and offer a safe, positive environment for clients to be heard and to be themselves.

Working closely and collaboratively with you, I aim to help you to explore and gently challenge your thinking, feeling and behaviour in support of you learning more about yourself and feeling more ready and confident to make change now and for your future.

If you're looking for a calm and confidential space to think and make sense of your own unique story, I'd love to hear from you.

Practice description

My Background

My client work has been in private practice and from GP referrals in a NHS setting.

I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds, supporting them through difficult life events and transitions, including clients affected by;  divorce and relationship issues, bereavement and loss, loneliness, retirement, studying or working away from home, peri-menopause and menopause, chronic illness and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

I can help with feelings of anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, low mood and the grieving and loss process.

Before training as a counsellor, I built 20+ years’ experience working predominantly in People and Development roles in business, supporting people with; Stress, overwhelm, work-related issues, low confidence and personal development challenges.

I have an interest in the impact of bereavement on family relationships and dynamics, particularly sibling bereavement.

My first session

Contacting counsellors and arranging a first meeting can feel like a huge step, so it’s important to feel at ease with a counsellor and with the process.

You are welcome to contact me to arrange;

A free 20 minute confidential telephone or Zoom call - to talk about what brings you to counselling. I will share with you how I work and answer any questions you might have about the counselling process.

Face to Face /Online Sessions

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

In our first session we will look at our counselling contract together to discuss how we might best work together.

My therapy room is situated in the Heaton Moor Counselling & Therapy Centre, Stockport. There is easy access to bus routes to Stockport and Manchester and the local area. We are close to the M60, and Heaton Chapel train station is a 10 minute walk from the centre. On road car parking is available around the centre.
