About me and my therapy practice

How I can help

The chances are you, or maybe your partner or your child, have been struggling with something for a while and it’s not going away. Seeking counselling, particularly for the first time, is a massive step and requires some courage. I offer empathy and understanding, as well as my undivided attention on whatever you choose to bring and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Life is a series of transitions based on life stages, relationships and change all of which can bring up feelings of loss, uncertainty and anxiety. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where feelings can be vented, talked about and thought about. Making sense of them and thinking about where they’ve come from and what triggers them can be truly liberating. Like a knot that’s too tight to untangle, I can help loosen some of the hurt, the difficult stuff that weighs you down and work with you in bringing about change and the possibilities of a more fulfilling, authentic life.

About me

I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor and therapist. I use a creative and dynamic approach which works with all ages including children and young adults.

My experience is drawn from working for the NCT, mental health charities, schools and colleges. I have worked extensively with new parents and have a particular interest in the loss, identity changes, attachment and postnatal depression that this major transition can bring. My other areas of expertise include working with anxiety, depression, anger, relationship difficulties and bereavement. I am currently working as a volunteer for a Covid-19 Bereavement Service. I also have a passion for working with young people and all the modern challenges they face. Amongst my roles I am a therapist for a Sixth Form College in North London.

My first session

If you think I might be able to help or you have any questions give me a call or e-mail me. After asking for a short overview, I would usually offer an initial introductory session where we can explore things further and particularly, what help you're looking for. This can sometimes take more than one session, at which point we can decide if and how to move forward.
