About me and my therapy practice

I am an Existential Psychotherapist.  This means that I am interested in your experience on being in the world.  I explore how we can live a life that is more in tune with our authentic self.

We are shaped by our experiences but we have many possibilities on how we engage with these.  We can sometimes feel we are lost in a forest of confusion, pain, anxiety or despair.  In therapy we look for a clearing in the forest that helps us to see the paths or options open to you.  Once we see these we can explore them together to explore which is the right path for you.

Practice description

I offer a fixed number of sessions or open-ended therapy.  In our first session we will explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to engage with in the sessions.

I offer therapy to individuals and couples.

In the past I worked as a Mental Health Support Worker in an NHS Mental Health hospital.  This enabled me to experience the process of the medical model.

I do not work to a medical model or seek to place you within a diagnosis.  I seek to meet you and to hear your experience of being you in a world that can sometimes seem scary and confusing.

I am comfortable working in a way that explores what it means to be a spiritual being and how this can impact our way of living in the world.

I have an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy which I completed in 2009.  It was a four year practitioner training and completed at Roehampton University, London.

I also have an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy (ADEP) which I completed in 2012. This was a two year post graduate practitioner training completed at Regent's University, London.
