About me and my therapy practice
Counselling gives us that opportunity to safely talk through things happening in our lives that are causing us distress, confusion and anxiety.
I believe that if we can deepen our understanding of who we are, why we think and act in the way we do, we can grow individually and we begin to see ourselves in a clearer light, learning how to work through the areas our lives that are either holding us back or causing us to feel stuck.
During counselling I see how clients become more accepting and supportive of themselves and begin to live their lives more freely and fully.
The most important element of counselling that will help with your therapy is the nature of the counselling relationship that we form together.
In our sessions, you will be able to safely, at your own pace, talk about and work through the issues that you are facing. I will be listening and working to understand your thoughts feelings, motivations and above all how your life is for you.
By being understood and knowing that you are truly accepted without any judgement or without someone trying to tell you how you should or shouldn’t be living your life, you will develop a sense that it is safe to explore those places in your mind and body that cause discomfort.
I will be beside you in this exploration, supporting and holding the safety of the space wherever you choose to go in your memories, feelings and thought.
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I attend regular training to support my work as a counsellor.
As well as my private counselling practice, I am proud to work with WAVES Counselling Agency.
During and following my training, I counselled clients with Kooth and Cruse Bereavement Care.
My first session
Deciding to come to counselling a brave step to take. You will be embarking on a journey that can help you discover more about yourself, heal from the past and find ways to live in the present more contently.
When you make contact with me, and before our first session, we will have a brief conversation to see how I might support you and the best days, times and ways for you to have the counselling.
During our first session, you will be able to talk more about more you what like to gain from our counselling sessions and agree ways in which we can work together to support the issues you are currently facing.
