About me and my therapy practice

Hello my name is Wendy,

I want to offer you time and space to explore what is happening for you, where hopefully you will feel valued, accepted and heard.

I believe each and every person is unique and we all have the capacity to understand ourselves and other and have the ability for growth and change.

In sessions, we will work together exploring any issues you bring. This may involve talking things through and/or creative activities such as, sand trays, visualisations, storytelling and/or drawing (by the way no artistic abilities required).

I am a qualified counsellor with over 10 years experience working in the mental health sector. I worked as a counselor for a well known mental health charity for some years as well as having my own practice.

On the practical side, I'm located just off the A1 in the town of Sandy which has good transport links; there is also free parking adjacent to my counselling room which is on the ground floor with access to a downstairs toilet.

Feel free to contact me (by email) to discuss the possibility of us working together. I look forward to hearing from you.

My first session

During your first session is usually for 60 minutes. It is an opportunity to met each other and to get a sense of what is bringing you for counselling but only as much as you are comfortable with sharing.

We will talk about what you would like to get out of counselling and what I can offer you.

We will spend some time looking at paper work such as our working agreement and my privacy statement as well as completing a contact details form. ( which will be stored securely)

The whole point of the first session is for us both to see if we are a good fit to work together. This is so important for you to gain the most out of your counselling experience
