About me and my therapy practice

Do you want to feel happier? Do you suffer with anxiety, anger, depression, feeling sad or low self esteem? Maybe you feel stuck and have lost yourself?

Sometimes there is a specific reason and we know what is making us feel that way, other times it appears there is no reason at all. Counselling can help unpick whats going on, identify those thoughts and for it to feel less overwhelming in a safe and non judgmental way.

I work with young people (11+) and adults. Alongside my Private Practice I volunteered for many years working with children, young people and adults. I also worked part time as a College Counsellor and over five years as a Welfare Officer in a Safeguarding Team in Bucks.

I work with a variety of presenting issues including but not exclusive to: - self harm, stress, anxiety, neurodiversity (ASD, ADHD), depression,  suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), family issues, relationships, bullying, bereavement, OCD, issues, divorce, school issues and BiPolar Disorder.

I work in an integrative way with Person Centred being at the core and provide short or long term therapy depending on your needs.

Practice description

My practice is located in a quiet cul de sac with parking directly outside the house. The room is large, comfortable and private. It is also located on the ground floor next to the toilet facilities.

Please note that unfortunately, I currently do not have wheelchair access.

My first session

The initial face to face assessment is to allow us the space and time for any questions or concerns you may have. This is also an opportunity to see if we are both happy to work together and if you feel counselling is for you.

The purpose of the initial assessment is to gather information on what is going on for you and for us to both work together to explore your therapy requirements and how you feel I can help in a safe and confidential environment.

It will include-

Discussing the practicalities of counselling by looking at times, cancellations, fees, confidentiality (and its limits).

It will allow me to gain a better understanding of your presenting problems and difficulties so we can discuss together your goals of counselling and areas to be worked on in future sessions.

Please be prepared to answer a few basic questions around any presenting issues and expectations of counselling as well as any medical history/medication that may be relevant to our work together.

For those under 16, there is the opportunity for a parent/caregiver to join us for the first 10-15 minutes.
