About me and my therapy practice
"Offering a space to offload and debrief from pressures and stresses of the Coronavirus situation. Remote short term or one off appointments available by secure video link or telephone".
I am an integrative Therapist with over 24 years of experience and an MA in Psychotherapy and counselling. I am an accredited member of the BACP and passionate about the healing power of counselling, psychotherapy and the capacity of the human psyche to heal, develop and grow. This belief, coupled with my training and experience, underpins how I work (with adults, one to one).
I have a high level of experience working with the following: low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, relationship issues; confusion and work place stress. I have a special interest in: trauma; psychophysiological disorders and the mind/body connection, especially how the body can be used as a tool to bring about change and healing.
My approach is integrative which means I draw on several different theoretical approaches to support my work. I work in a client centred, humanistic way and work differently with everyone because each of us and our needs and experiences are unique.
Training and Qualifications: MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s College in London (intergrative); CBT for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma; Currently undertaking 'Somatic Trauma Therapy Training'' Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling; Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Health and Well-being; Brief short term work. The Cambridge North railway station is two miles away or a nine minute cycle ride.
My first session
The first contact, either by telephone, email or text, is an opportunity to explain what you’re struggling with and also to ask any questions.
Your first appointment is a two way process whereby you will talk about any symptoms you may have and what you need help with. I will be assessing your clinical need and you will be assessing me and discovering how I work; if you are comfortable, we can make further appointments.
