About me and my therapy practice
We are currently living in very strange times and it's a rare person who doesn't feel overwhelmed at some point. This can exacerbate issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and self doubt, and coming to counselling can be the first step in helping us cope with these feelings.
Therapy is a space where we can hear ourselves think and start to gain some clarity about what's going on for us. It is a confidential, warm and supportive space where you can safely express your thoughts and emotions, and know that you won't be judged.
I am a fully qualified and insured MBCAP registered therapist. I work within the BACP's principles and ethical framework, one-on-one with adults and young people. I have experience of working in a variety of secondary schools, and have also worked extensively in the area of loss and bereavement.
We all experience life differently and I am not here to judge you or tell you what to do. Instead, I will listen and try my best to understand where you're coming from and who you are. I use warmth, humour, compassion and curiosity to support you and develop an effective therapeutic relationship. Please feel free to email or call me with any further questions. I am a person-centred therapist and our work will always be guided by you and at a pace which you find comfortable. I am currently working online, which has the advantage of being more accessible to those with time constraints, have caring responsibilities, or experience mobility issues. I charge £55 for a fifty minute session, and ideally we would meet once a week. However, life is complicated and so I do offer flexibility within my schedule.
My first session
I offer a free introductory session - either by phone or via Zoom. Finding the right therapist is so important, and this is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you have, and to decide if you think we can work well together.
