About me and my therapy practice
Covid 19 update! Clients are finding my unique skills as a therapist and Health Coach Practitioner invaluable at this time. How do you optimise your physical and mental health right now? Are you struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, emotional eating, or the confusion of everything changing? Some of you will be dealing with distress over family members and fear about your own health. Some of you want to use this as an opportunity to improve your overall wellbeing. Take control of your stress, your mindset, improve your energy, and change old behaviours into new life enhancing ones. I can support you with all of this.
I want to be of service during this crisis. I am offering flexible fees and appointment times. All sessions are via phone or video call. My usual fee is £45 but to help people in current financial difficulty I have introduced a sliding scale from £30 to £45. However you choose to work with me, I am practical and solution focussed, enabling you to make choices and develop strategies that will change your current situation and your quality of life.

My practice is based on collaboration with you. I work in a more coaching based style which means focussing on your current problems and what you want in the future, rather than primarily on the past. This does not mean the past is ignored - it is important to understand why you have certain feelings, behaviours and thoughts - but then to figure out how you change so your future can be brighter. This is what I offer:
Counselling - for those who want to address current difficulties, life issues, and find a way forward.
Mood Programme - a 3-month individual 1:1 coached programme aimed at creating health in mind and body.
The Good Mood Club - a social, informative club run from my kitchen in Frome, Somerset. (I am in the process of exploring an online option for this).
Mood Booster Session - a one off consultation identifying practical steps to improving your mental wellness. Concessions currently on offer for this.

Usually clients sign up for an initial six session commitment to counselling - but this is flexible especially at this time. The sessions can be weekly or every two weeks. The Mood Programme is fixed at six sessions at two-weekly intervals.
My first session
I am happy to have a chat by phone before an initial session. In a first session you and I will be figuring out what you want from the work and whether we are a good match. We will look at current presenting problems and any relevant background information. You will not have to talk about anything you don't want to. You will be able to ask questions about me and the work we may embark on. It is important you feel safe and comfortable and it is important to me that what you want is compatible with my skills and experience. We will discuss the amount of sessions you may need, and the regularity of those.
If you are not sure whether you want counselling or coaching I usually suggest an exploration session to help you decide.
