About me and my therapy practice

Philosophy -

I believe everyone has the basic right to enjoy life to the full. We all experience set-backs but our thoughts, feelings and behaviour determine how we cope and what level of fulfilment we experience from life. Through my counselling work in Cornwall over the last 20 years I have been committed to helping my clients significantly improve their quality of life.

I help my clients to learn new skills, awarenesses, beliefs and strategies that not only get them through their current difficulty but also equip them to deal with issues in 'future days.'  I believe a professional should show someone how to use a tool for themselves rather than do the work for them.

I am a relaxed and friendly character, although I can be enthusiastic and assertive when circumstance requires. My FREE initial consultation gives you the chance to meet me for yourself.

It takes a lot of courage to ask for help and the decision to seek counselling or psychotherapy can be a difficult one. I treat all my clients with respect and kindness.

About me and my therapy practice

My most treasured value is humility. By accepting ourselves and others we can create a space devoid of shame from which we can grow unencumbered by ego. Integrity and equality further a working relationship that can thrive on trust and honesty. A supervisor should be an ally.

I approach each piece of supervisory work with curiosity and desire to explore the vast palette of possibilities for learning and developing my own understanding and that of my supervisees. This manifests in a willingness to share my own experience and an invitation for my supervisees to be open and transparent with theirs. In service of my own continued growth I am forever learning from my clients, supervisees, peers, supervisors.

I have over 30 years experience as supervisor and trainer in various settings and I am qualified as both. I supervise counsellers and psychotherapists both individually and in group supervision.
