About me and my therapy practice

I am a  humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor with a faith in the human potential to develop in a positive direction. I believe we have our own path to cut through the woods in our unique life journey. In the counselling process I am a confidential companion for a part of your journey. I can help you make meaning of your experiences and in navigating your personal challenges.

I take a non-discriminatory, LGBTQI+ affirmative, experiential, Person Centred approach. I believe neurodiversity is a difference and not a disorder. I take a non-judgemental, relational, holistic approach, alive to all aspects of self and factors outside of self. I believe the body keeps the score and we all have experiential resources that can help us more than we may think. My approach is gentle and follows the client’s lead to what is discussed, that is curious about felt senses and learning from what we are experiencing in the moment.

Other people can and do help us feel loved and valued yet also the reverse. My approach recognises feelings of aloneness and how in our interior life we can agonise over our behaviours, choices and the quality of our relationships.

What has happened to us affects our way of being in the present, particularly in terms of adverse childhood experiences. Quite often our story of those experiences or an absence of a story are based on childhood decisions and strategies. However, I support clients in drawing on their own internal resources to live in the present and find closure to unfinished business.

I hold the BACP professional qualification at Post-Graduate level in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Brighton. I am also professionally certified in online and telephony based counselling (Open University/BACP and The Online Therapy Institute); Working At Relational Depth (CARA) and Child Protection in Education (Educare). As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I practice within their ethical framework.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified leadership development coach; career transition mentor; team and personal development coach/trainer; and humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor. I have a faith in the human potential to develop in a positive direction.

I specialise in the creative, media and digital sector to work with agencies, production companies and individuals towards the outcomes they are seeking in the world of work and beyond. I advise on mental health in the workplace and work with organisations to support team members at times of distress.

I have a non-discriminatory, LGBTQI+ affirmative, experiential approach which is non-judgemental, relational and holistic; which is alive to all aspects of self and factors outside self. I seek to understand a person's unique context in this era of exponential technological change; the Covid19 pandemic; growing uncertainty; and fears regarding environmental change and personal safety. I offer concessionary rates for people who find themselves unemployed or financially disadvantaged; or unable to enter the world of work for any reason.

I am the former Commercial Director of Virgin Media TV; Exec VP, Commercial of Flextech TV and Broadcast Director of Initiative Media. I have experience of full service advertising; broadcasting; digital; TV production; media buying/selling; content distribution; media rights management; and business strategy. I am also a certified FIRO-B practitioner (OPP) and alumni of the Harvard Business School Strategic Negotiations programme. My qualifications include a PGDip in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling (University of Brighton); PGCE Social Science for FE (Keele University); BA Hons Economic & Social Studies (University of East Anglia); Systems Dialogue for Leaders (Hexagon Training); FIRO-B Trainer (OPP). As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I practice within their ethical framework. www.towardspeople.co.uk
