About me and my therapy practice

I'm a counsellor, relationship therapist and supervisor working with trainee counsellors, newly qualified and experienced therapists.

My approach is to encourage and engage in supporting therapists with all aspects of their client workload, ethics and business:

£60 for a 1hr supervisory session

£75 for 1.5hrs

* If you are a trainee or newly qualified therapist, I support you in preparing for private practice and all the elements needed to create a professional and ethical environment for your clients.  I will also provide you with tools and understanding to support you in maximising business potential, learning and a future pathway to building your hours and experience - potentially leading to BACP accreditation.

* I also work with experienced therapists aligning with their personal goals.  My aim here is to create an alliance within a motivational and creative space - to further support growth and learning; awareness; maintaining ethics and good practice.

My background is humanistic  - transactional analysis, Gestalt therapy, person-centred therapy with additional specialisms in:

  1. Relationships, communication & couple work
  2. Transactional Analysis frameworks and tools for contracting and boundaries
  3. Short-term, solution-focussed work (including EAP, corporate & business engagement)

About me and my therapy practice

Individual and couple therapist and Supervisor.

I am a relationship therapist, counsellor and supervisor working across the UK on Zoom and by phone.

I work with individuals and couples with an aim to offer a solution-focussed environment to talk through issues.

Couple work: I work with couples all over the UK for both relationship MOT's - a tune up - and for more pressing, critical work. The structure is designed to be constructive and helpful - offering a space to better communicate and recognise well-worn patterns and improve communication. For couples considering separation, the framework offers opportunity to discuss and reflect on what's happening and consider all options for moving forward.

Individual Sessions: Based on 50 mins or 1 hr and these surround topics such as:

Relationship issues - family, relationships, work - communication and handling change.

Anxiety, depression and low mood.

Building self-esteem: experiences of loneliness, self-doubt, distrust and uncertainty. Phobias, worry-loops and self-harm.

Addiction: self-harming patterns of behaviour. I also work with 'Adult Children of Alcoholics/Addicts.'

Career stress: managing work-life balance, stress at work, redundancy and change.

Identity and roles: mid-life questions, divorce and separation, community, menopause and sexuality.

Session Fees:

Individual sessions are £60 for 50 minutes or £70 for 1 hr.

Couples sessions are £90 for 60 minutes and longer sessions of 1hr 20 at £120.

Practice description

Clients work with me on Zoom and by telephone - I give you a personal link for your Zoom sessions, or if you are undertaking counselling by phone, I will call you at your designated time for the duration of your session.

You do not necessarily have to be in distress to benefit from counselling. You may be looking for an impartial, non-judgemental and confidential space to discuss issues on your mind. On the other hand, you may have reached a crisis point in an area of your life or relationship and need a safe place to talk through what is happening.

We work together in the early sessions to determine what you want to focus on and how you would like therapy to benefit you.

I am trained in Transactional Analysis, Gestalt therapy, Person-centred therapy and NLP. My approach is relational and I offer tools and experiences and psycho-education to help develop self-awareness and future possibilities.

I have a special interest in relationship and couple therapy and undertake numerous courses every year to maintain and develop further skills.

My first session

Ahead of the first session I will send you a registration form and outline of how I work, called the contract/terms doc., This document outlines the nature of confidentiality, my fees & cancellation policy and information relating to my insurance and the BACP Ethical Framework.

Typically, we will have had a conversation by phone too to discuss your needs and any questions you may have.

During the first session we will discuss what you're looking to achieve and the background to your presenting issue. The first session is your opportunity to outline what's been happening for you and what you would like to achieve in therapy.

Having a first, exploratory session gives you an indicator of how therapy might benefit you.
