About me and my therapy practice

Counselling is a talking, creative therapy that gives you the time and space, to help you to be better equipped with coping methods for an easier and much more freeing way of being who you really are and in turn helps you to get on with your daily life. Sometimes your thoughts might be racing, and you may have uncomfortable feelings, and find that you are not coping with everyday issues. If this is you, then now may be the time to make that call and get some help. I truly believe that when you enter counselling that, it is the trusting, non-judge-mental, confidential and supportive space that helps you as my client to engage and reflect about you and your situation. Counselling is not an easy journey to travel, but with my training of a level 7, post graduate diploma, and other relevant professional development certificates in varying theories, I am more than qualified to help and give that support to you.

I am an integrative, humanistic, psychotherapeutic counsellor, with 14 years experience in the counselling profession. About me and my therapy practice

If you need support with your clients? Want to work with someone who is experienced not only in supervision but also as a counsellor and uses Integrative, Person Centered and psycho-dynamic ways of working with you and your clients, then do get in touch with me as I am here to help you.

Why not book a supervision with me to see if I would be the right supervisor for you and your client case load.

What is supervison?

It is a great way to clarify subsistence of good practice and to maintain ethical guidelines and boundaries. It is also a space for you as an already practicing or training counsellor to reflect in depth on the work that you do.

There are differing types of supervision, such as,

Formative: This is more educational and tends to be when a counsellor is younger in experience.

Normative: Discussion of work, accountability for work whilst maintaining confidentiality.

Restorative: Maintaining own self care, ability to de-brief so as to maintain own self care.

How I will work with you

I will be there to support, guide and educate you, so as you are able to access your full counselling potential.

It will always be your choice as to how you want your supervision sessions to be. Such as presentation and content. But as your supervisor one of my roles is to make sure that all ethical and professional boundaries are used within your therapeutic processes or your client work.

To summise: it will depend on where you are within your career as a counsellor to how you use and gain the know-how of supervison. But always remember, that I am not an expert, instead I am a counsellor just like you with a wealth of counselling and supervision experience, and my motto is that we all have our own individual and unique way of working with clients.

The Cost to you for supervision is £40.00

Thanks for dropping by! : - )

Practice description

My practice room is within my home and is a quiet space for you to discuss what is troubling you.

My first session

We would start with me welcoming you and then the boundaries of data protection will be asked for you to give permission for me to keep your personal data whilst we work together.  Your first counselling session and all of your counselling is about you! But i will need to ask some informative questions,  so as I can see what would be the best way forward for working with you.

The boundaries of confidentiality will be mentioned. There will be ample time and space for you to tell me your story and for me to understand your story and support you in the best way that I can.

Should you then decide that I am the right counsellor for you, then we will book another counselling session for the following week.

The bookings are led by you and at times can and are flexible, so maybe once every two weeks might fit you better.
