About me and my therapy practice
Joy can be a sustainable feeling so why can it be so difficult to find? It can be helpful to be heard by another person who is experienced in understanding where you are uniquely coming from. The sessions are about talking about your life as you need to. You can reflect in a confidential setting about what is going on for you now, and in a way that can enable change. This can be quite liberating, and joyful, and life can be enjoyed more.
I have been practising for over 20 years, both privately and in the NHS. I have worked with people from different backgrounds and life experiences. I am based about five minutes away from Tooting Broadway tube station, in SW London. I believe in using skills that are underpinned by evidenced based practice, in its many different forms as well as believing that there is a lot about us as humans that is unique, maybe spiritual and we have beliefs which are unique and special to us. Indeed therapy can be transformational in its nature.
It is important to appreciate that how we are as human beings and how we can help ourselves deal with day to day living. Some recent models which have developed out of cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness in particular in my experience are very helpful. I am currently training in Sensorimotor Therapy which adds to the w/holistic perspective.
Through counselling you can learn skills to be able to change your unhelpful patterns. Feelings and emotions can as a result feel more comfortable.
