Features

Availability

I am currently offering online video sessions or telephone counselling all over the UK.

I am available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 7pm.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a warm, friendly, and compassionate therapist. I specialise in working with women experiencing low self-esteem. This may show up as worrying and overthinking, self-critical thoughts, body image concerns, people pleasing, feeling low or unmotivated or doubting your abilities. Or perhaps you are struggling with your relationships, imposter syndrome or perfectionism.

I also have experience working with women going through the menopause, post-natal depression, and miscarriage. I work with clients from different cultures and backgrounds.

If you can relate to any of these issues, please feel free to contact me.

My aim is to offer you a supportive, non-judgemental, and confidential space, where you feel genuinely heard and understood. We can explore whatever is troubling you now, as well as how your past experiences may have impacted you. I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based strategies and resources to help you manage your thoughts and feelings and make changes.

As a woman in midlife and a mum of grown-up children, I have lived through the many trials and tribulations that life throws at us, and it’s this combination of my personal experiences, my extensive training, and my passion to help others, that I bring to the counselling room.

If you would like any further information, or to view my privacy policy, or watch my introductory video, please visit my website (link above).

My qualifications and training:

  • BA (Hons) Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy (Warwick University)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – The Association for Psychological Therapies (APT)
  • Online and Telephone Counselling (Counselling Tutor)
  • Anger Management Training
  • Menopause Training
  • Body Image Training
  • Creative Approaches in Counselling
  • BSc (Hons) Health Sciences

Practice description

Sessions are 50 minutes long and are usually on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

The cost of each session is £55.

I am currently only offering online sessions, for adults over 18years residing in the UK.

I work in an open-ended way, and we will regularly review our work together to ensure we are working towards your goals.

My first session

Prior to the first session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives you a chance to share your concerns, ask any questions, and for me to see if I can help you.

At the first session, we will explore in more detail, what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the sessions. I will ask you for some background information about your general health and wellbeing. It’s natural to be nervous at this stage, but I will do my best to make you feel at ease. You do not need to prepare in any particular way before you attend the session.

The first session will give you a sense of how we would work together. If you want to continue with therapy, we would then discuss the number of sessions that may be suitable and any other practical details. There is no obligation to continue if you don’t feel it’s right for you.

If you would like to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation, please contact me. The best way is to email gatewaycounsellingwm@protonmail.com. I attempt to respond within 24 hours (except weekends).
