About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced, registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist.  I offer private individual therapy on an ongoing or short-term basis to adults.  My consulting room is a comfortable, safe and confidential setting in Aberdeen's West End.

Life brings us many challenges. Whether you come with specific issues or because you would like to understand yourself better, I seek to build a safe, trusting and empathic relationship. This can enable you to process difficult or painful feelings, at your own pace, in a thought provoking atmosphere.

The core of my approach is person-centred.  This moves away from the idea of the therapist as an expert who can 'fix' you, trusting instead that you possess the innate capacity to fulfil your own potential given the right conditions. Finding the right therapist is crucial so please come and meet me to see if it feels right for us to work together.

I am BACP registered and UKCP accredited.  I hold a MSC in Contemporary Person Centred Psychotherapy as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling.

Practice description

My practice is a safe, welcoming and private environment in the West End of Aberdeen.  You can expect to be greeted with warmth and respect.

My first session

If you decide you would like to go ahead and see what working with me is like, we can make an appointment for an initial session.  This is usually an hour long and is charged at the same rate as all other sessions.  This initial session give us a chance to get to know each other and for us to experience what it is like to work together.  We can explore what you are looking for from your sessions and you will have a chance to ask me questions about the way that I work.  At the end of this initial session we can discuss what feels most useful for you going forward.
