About me and my therapy practice

A problem shared

We all experience times of uncertainty, loss or change, when we may benefit from sharing our burdens with someone else. Covid 19 has impacted on many people.I understand that seeking psychological support can feel scary. My approach is open, warm and accepting. I work collaboratively with you, treating all information in the strictest confidence. I aim to empower you to develop your own skills to deal with your difficulties in the present and going forward. Relationship lies at the heart of all my work and forms the foundation of my approach.

In working with you I will draw on various therapeutic approaches to support your specific needs and goals. Addressing difficulties such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, managing emotions, phobias, PTSD, OCD, OCPD, BPD, low self-confidence, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, gender and identity concerns, eating disorders, difficulties with daily functioning, managing life changes, bereavement and loss, communication and relationship issues, work-related issues and addictions. Depending on the needs of each individual I see people on a long, medium and short term basis.

About me:

My counselling experience includes; working at a busy London GP practice; on a large London University campus; in a community based counselling service; and at London’s busiest centre for addiction rehabilitation.

I have a BSc Hons in behaviour and I trained at MSc level in Integrative Counselling, at Greenwich University. I integrate various therapeutic approaches; Psychodynamic and Humanistic, including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and CBT. Additionally I completed an Advanced Diploma in CBT/REBT, at Regent’s University London, to ensure my clients receive the most up-to-date methods of using CBT. I am also a fully qualified EMDR therapist. I am a fully qualified Schema Therapist with the International Society of Schema Therapy and now integrate a Schema Therapy approach when required.

I look forward to working with you.
