Practice description

How I work with clients

I try to make sure all of my clients come away from the therapy with a better understanding of themselves and with the tools they need to continue moving forward and to be able to work through any future life challenges.

Many of my clients start off with weekly sessions and then move to fortnightly or monthly depending on what they need.

I can work in a more goal-focused short-term approach or a more analytical long-term approach depending on what the client needs and wants. I offer both online and face to face sessions.

If you would like face-to-face sessions I will be seeing clients at my home in South London in a self-contained space at the bottom of my garden. My practice is cozy, light-filled, and completely private. If you are seeing me online I am practicing from the same space.

My first session

After a free 15-minute phone consultation with me, I will set up the first session online/face-to-face. The first session is a 50-minute assessment which is a general chat about why you want therapy, and what you feel you need help with. This will allow me to develop an idea of how I might be able to support you with your presenting issues. By the end of the assessment, I will make a recommendation on an initial number of sessions if you wish to begin a course of therapy.

But more than anything the first session is to see if after meeting me you would like to work with me. I know how important it is to find the right therapist. So if after the first session you think 'this is not for me' then, of course, you are not obliged to come back. You can stop sessions at any time and you are not tied in to anything. You will be sent a confidentiality contract to read through and sign if after your first session you would like to continue with therapy. This contract is to assure you that everything discussed is strictly confidential. The contract will also include information on payment etc.
