About me and my therapy practice
I understand that life can be difficult - we all face struggles which can be overwhelming and difficult to manage. You may be battling with your self esteem, having difficulty with past traumas, feelings of anxiety or depression or fighting other issues which are negatively impacting your life. It doesn’t have to be that way- I believe we have the power within us to heal and grow, to become the master of our feelings and emotions, even in rocky waters. The great thing is, you have made the first step and are looking for help.
I could bore you and tell you all about my theoretical approach which I'm only to happy to share if you ask - the main thing is that I I am here to listen and to help. Many people come to me feeling let down or failed by previous therapy experiences. I cater my practice to your needs whatever they maybe. We can work together to build (stepping stones) a plan of action tailored to you to help work through your issues, achieve your goals and feel empowered to live a more satisfying and enriching life.
Face to Face:
For your comfort I work from my home. A non-clinical but sterile environment with really comfy chairs, offering a comfortable, warm and welcoming space. A space where should feel you can be completely yourself, without any judgement what so ever.
The circumstances of the past few years have been difficult for many and may well cause feelings of anxiety about visiting someone face to face. In addition to this, advancements in technology and social media have allowed me to help people all over the UK, who may have found it difficult to access my services. I offer easy access, online video sessions which you can attend from whichever space you feel comfortable in.
While at first it might be a daunting prospect to share yourself with others, group therapy can create a reassuring sense of community, help deepen your understanding of your own struggles and know that you are not alone. I help to facilitate group therapy sessions with clients dealing with similar problems, these can be attended as your sole means of therapy or in addition to individual sessions.
My first session
I understand that it's not easy to talk to someone you don't know about very personal problems. I will do everything I can to make you feel at ease, warm and comfortable.
The first free, no obligation consultation provides an opportunity for the two of us to get to know one another. It kind of sets the tone, it's called 'relationship building' in the field but I think that sounds rather mechanical. I prefer to think of it more as a friendly meeting, like an informal chat.
There is no set structure and it's completely your choice where we go with this. It's your time and it's your space. Please get in touch for a chat, where you can see whether or not I am right for you. I hope to hear from you but most importantly, I wish you all the very best on your life journey!
