About me and my therapy practice

My name is Paula Khan, I am a fully qualified and registered counselling therapist. Since 2009, I’ve helped my clients break through the obstacles that seemed to be holding them back in life. Life may bring moments of uncertainty, causing you to feel stuck, unhappy, or unfulfilled. Let me support you in your journey, as you develop personalised tools that you can apply beyond our work together.

My original training is Person Centred but I draw from other Humanistics prespectives. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate, my practice is GDPR compliant and I am a registered member of BACP where I adhere to their ethical framework of good practise.

My personal and professional experiences have enhanced my developing practice. Such experiences cover themes of complex bereavement, special needs, cultural differences in any context, women's issues, older adults, romantic relationships involving different religions/cultures/races e.g. interracial/multicultural relationships.

Practice description

Each session lasts 50 minutes and is held preferably on a weekly basis, if held over the phone or video call I will ask you to be in a comfortable and confidential space.

I am currently working remotely using online platforms such as Zoom and telephone calls.  My face to face practice, when I am able to do so, will be at the following location: Terapia, The Bothy 17A, East End Road, London, N3 3QE (a limited number of sessions can take place in Mill Hill East, NW7).

My first session

Accessing therapy for the first time can feel like a mine field, navigating through different therapists and their ways of working. As such, I offer a 15-minute FREE phone consultation that may help you gain some clarity regarding what I offer, as well as any emerging questions.

Our first session will be used to identify the reasons that brought you to counselling. We will also decide if we are comfortable to proceed and arrange a suitable time for future bookings.
