About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative psychotherapist and whether you are feeling lost, stuck or vulnerable, we can work together to connect to these aspects of self with compassion and understanding.  In collaboration we explore where you have become stuck or unfulfilled in your life. Perhaps you are trapped in compulsive or self-defeating behaviours? Often people have unfinished business in their past, be it developmental trauma, abuse, loss or difficult life events and relationships that have left them with low self-esteem, feeling disconnected to themselves and others. 

Practice description

I work relationally and feel that personal growth and healing can be fostered within the therapeutic relationship. I enjoy working with what clients in creative ways, looking at updating old coping mechanisms and creating new ways of being. I am experienced in working with a diverse range of individuals, and difficulties including attachment or developmental trauma / abuse, loneliness, relationship difficulties, loss/grief, depression and anxiety. I enjoy helping clients accept and embrace parts of themselves that they've previously disowned. I operate a gender affirmative practice and have experience and additional training in working with gender diverse and gender questioning individuals.  

My first session

During the first session we aim to establish a sense of each other and explore what it is that you need. The most important aspect is that you feel comfortable talking to me and that you feel I am the right person to walk alongside you in your difficulties. I will tell you a bit about how I work and how therapy can help. The first step is realising you need help and would like areas of your life to change.  You may feel overwhelmed or nervous about making contact with me but please be assured that I will meet you with empathy and a compassionate curiosity about what it means to be you right now.
