About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I am Tracey and a warm welcome to my on-line, counselling; video, telephone and e-mail.
Explore life’s challenges from the comfort of your own home with me as a supporter and guide. Together we can explore any difficulties you are facing.
I am a qualified counsellor with a Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Salford University. Plus, I have completed extra training in on-line counselling.
I can offer you my experience of working with the impact of trauma, anxiety and depression.
In the past, I worked as a qualified Careers Adviser and then moved to work in the fields of substance misuse, domestic abuse and sexual violence.
I am committed to welcoming clients from all backgrounds and in a non-discriminatory manner. Please note that my counselling is limited to work with adults, 18 years or older who are based in the U.K.
I enjoy the journeys I take with people, helping them towards more positive outcomes. I am confident that by working together, counselling can help you move forward.
Practice description
I trained within the Person-centred tradition which puts the client at the centre of a self-healing process. Today, I integrate any techniques, tools and information that responds to the needs of an individual client. In particular, I use approaches that makes my counselling more trauma-sensitive; such as using grounding and relaxation. This is a style I have developed working with a rape crisis charity.
We agree a regular time each week when I will ring you, e-mail or we meet up on Zoom.
Zoom and telephone sessions are 50 minutes in length.
Your weekly e-mail can be up to 1,000 words.
My counselling space is private and any notes I make are stored safely. I am registered with the Information Commissioner.
Our online counselling therapy will take place within a secure, encrypted environment to offer you confidentiality and safety. I will send email correspondence through a secure mail server.
Counselling is valuable only when you sense that you are growing because of it. I believe it is good practice to work towards a set number of sessions, but together, we will keep this under review.
I work within the ethical framework of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and also follow their guidelines for on-line counselling and psychotherapy.
My first session
Initially, I will e-mail you information about my service and an initial confidentiality agreement. The next step is an introductory telephone call with me to talk through what you want to achieve with counselling and whether there are any matters you wish to make me aware of, such as health conditions. Also, we will discuss which method of online counselling you prefer. This call lasts up to one hour and is free of charge.
Our first session will ensure you agree with the contract and we will map out important information. We will check you are comfortable with the counselling method you have chosen. There is a reduced charge for this first session.
