About me and my therapy practice
In my view, the main purpose of therapy is to help clients make sense of themselves and their life story. This is because behind every thought, emotion, feeling and behaviour is a story. And if we wish to change our personal reality and how we relate to ourselves, others and the world, insight & self-awareness is the key that opens the door to compassion, acceptance, healing, self-worth and creating a new personal reality. Thus, in my practice I strive to help clients achieve that. And I strive to make therapy a journey of curiosity, as opposed to one of judgement, criticism or blaming.
Although I draw on several types of therapy, such as Cognitive-behaviour Therapy, Person-centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Logotherapy, my work is mainly underpinned by psychodynamic concepts and Internal Family Systems therapy. Furthermore, I draw on knowledge that I gained in my Psychology studies (BSc.), Mental Health studies (MSc.), neuroscience and mindfulness.
