About me and my therapy practice

I am trained as an integrative therapist, this means that I look to different theories to inform my work and provide the most appropriate format for our work together. I provide both long term and short term therapy, tailored to meet your needs. Long term or open ended therapy can provide space to reflect on issues that you may have carried for many years and concerns that may have affected your ability to live a fulfilling life. Short term therapy can provide a focused opportunity to look at more pressing, immediate issues that may have led to a current crisis.
At the beginning of the pandemic I undertook additional training to ensure the safety of my practice online. I now provide both face to face and online psychotherapy for my clients and sometimes a blend of both. My rooms in Hampton are quiet, airy and provide a warm, calm environment to allow a safe, confidential exploration of your reality and current situation.
Practice descriptionI believe we all have the resources within us to lead happy and fulfilled lives. Sometimes our early life experiences can create a tangled web that we can struggle to escape from and this can lead to unhappiness, anxiety and difficulties in our lives and relationships. I provide an environment where we can explore, together, how to unravel those complexities and grow towards a more fulfilling and fulfilled life. I work with clients experiencing complex grief, bereavement, addiction, social anxieties, depresssion and past trauma. Individuals and couples are welcomed into my practice without judgement or discrimination.
My first session
We will generally have had a converstaion on the telephone prior to booking a full first session. This will provide us with a chance to look at your current needs and to get a feeling of whether you would like to take the opportunity of working together further and when would be convenient for you. If you feel you would like to procede we can book a first session to look at the most pressing issues you wish to focus on. Together we can explore your hopes for what therapy will provide and the goals we can work towards. The first session also provides an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have with regard to how therapy works and what our journey together might look like. The finer details of our contract can be explored and any issues can be raised and discussed at this point. It will also provide me with an opportunity to assess how best we can work together.
