About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor based in Great Missenden with experience of working with both adults and teenagers. I am committed and passionate about mental well-being and work collaboratively alongside clients to explore problems or concerns. Through the process of therapy, clients often feel more positive about how to move forward or cope with whatever life throws at them.

I am a caring and empathetic therapist and recognise that my clients are individuals therefore tailor my services accordingly. I work from a person-centred foundation but call on other theoretical approaches such as Trauma Informed Practice and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy to ensure clients get the most effective therapy for their circumstances.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and anger. In addition, I have specialist knowledge and experience of working with survivors of sexual assault and abuse. This list is far from exclusive so please do contact me for further information.

Practice description

I offer counselling to adults and teenagers aged 13 years and over. Clients can choose whether to attend counselling online or face to face. For face to face counselling I have a therapy room in Great Missenden with parking available.

Following an enquiry, I offer an initial free 15 minutes no obligation phone or online conversation, in order to discuss your needs and see if we feel we can work together. If you wish to proceed with therapy, we can set a mutually agreed weekly time.

I offer a safe non-judgemental environment where clients can bring anything to discuss and it is often through this process that clients can begin to make sense of their own lives and/or cope better with whatever life throws at them. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship can facilitate change resulting in an increased sense of well-being and positivity.

I offer both short term and long-term therapy and believe it is healthy to always be working towards an ending.

My first session

I understand how difficult it can be to accept that you need some support and that accessing counselling may feel like a huge step, I do not underestimate how this may feel for some clients. During the first session, I will try to alleviate any concerns or worries about us working together and I will answer any questions. I will talk you through the terms of the working agreement, which will include confidentiality and a privacy policy. I will also ask you some questions about your yourself so we can build up a picture of your situation and circumstances in order to tailor your support.

It is essential that I am the right therapist for you as the therapeutic relationship is a major part in driving positive change and improving mental well-being.
