About me and my therapy practice
Experienced psychotherapist helping with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks, feeling sad or stuck, or issues related to family, identity, relationships or career.
My focus as a therapist is to help people to explore their problems and work through them over the longer-term. The aim is always to help a client to gain new understanding and help them move forwards.
This usually involves exploring a client's immediate circumstances and feelings, and thinking about past events and how these might affect the present. Sometimes, it can be helpful to explore dreams and more loosely associated memories.
While my training is psychodynamic, I integrate ideas from existential, relational and neuropsychoanalytic therapeutic approaches into my work. If you would like to know more about what this means in practice, please ask me when we meet.
My first session
As a starting point, I offer a free 30-minute consultation by phone to explore your situation and answer any questions you have. This is always a very open conversation with no expectation or obligation to work together.
The next step is to meet face-to-face or online for one or more assessment sessions, to think further about what you want to get from therapy and to help us decide if I am the right therapist for you.
If we then decide to work together, we will meet regularly online or in-person in London, usually long-term. My consulting room is in Shoreditch - this is ideally placed for clients based in Dalston, Hackney, Bethnal Green, Hoxton, Old Street, Farringdon, Barbican, Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Angel and the City of London, as well as clients in east London or the wider London area.
