About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel bewildered, lost – life not making any sense? Do you hide in silence, or feel that what you say has little meaning? Do you construct walls to protect yourself from the outside world? Do you find yourself but trapped from contact with others by those same walls?
Are you afraid to risk engagement with others? Are you anxious – paralysed by the expectation that everything will go wrong? Are you stuck in a rut and afraid you will never get out?
Does life sometimes seem rigid and unyielding? Are you looking for answers - or maybe the answer. Maybe you are afraid that you will never find it.
Perhaps there is no magic answer. Our lives are not carved in stone. We change with every passing moment. Maybe we need to learn how to accept that change, and accept ourselves.
Therapy provides time, space and the opportunity to express ourselves. I offer the opportunity explore the complexity of feelings, to ask difficult questions, to break down the walls of silence or pretence through honest expression.
I offer a safe, compassionate space in which you are able to share your thoughts, feelings in confidence and without judgement. Together, we can explore the problems that hold your life in stasis, enabling you to discover the tools which you can use to shape your own answers and empower your future choices. I suggest that through building resilience and trust, sooner or later our true self will emerge.
I specialise in working with clients who experience anger, anxiety and stress. I have professional experience teaching and research in the field of higher education. My qualifications are centred around literature, creative writing, psychology, history and mythology. I also use creative therapies such as writing to express, understand and come to terms with what you feel. I offer a free initial session to determine whether we can work together.
