About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to Bristol Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am a professionally trained and qualified psychodynamic counsellor. I have a team of 11 counsellors that work alongside me in my practice.
If you are experiencing pressure in life and your responses to situations leave you feeling exposed or confused, counselling can provide a safe, protected space to begin to understand how and why you are where you are.
Sessions are arranged to suit the individual needs of each client and I offer both short and long term therapy, meeting once a week. Each session provides a calm and safe environment for clients, enabling them to discuss sensitive topics without judgement and in total confidentiality.
I hold counselling sessions at my private practice in Southville, Bristol, which is easily accessible by bus, train, and only a ten-minute walk from the city centre.
I provide in-person and online counselling.
My first session
What happens at the initial session?
Our initial session allows us to assess whether I am the most appropriate counsellor for you. I will consider if there is an appropriate connection that could potentially support the positive collaboration required for healthy development. This is also an opportunity for you to judge your feelings and to ask questions, so that you may gauge your comfort working closely with me.
Am the right counsellor for you?
The effectiveness of counselling relies upon our relationship. Typically, an initial session indicates the positivity of such a relationship, though occasionally it may take slightly longer. Within the period of counselling, I host regular reviews that allow both the client and myself to reflect upon the relationship and consider the quality of our relationship.
If you feel uncomfortable or uncertain that I am the right counsellor, there will be no obligation for you to continue our sessions and I will be happy to refer you to another potential counsellor.
What is the length of each session?
Sessions last fifty minutes, once a week.
