About me and my therapy practice
Life can be stressful, particularly in these rapidly changing times. Are you finding your inner dialogue critical, overwhelming and even scary? Do you have anxiety that is sometimes or constantly debilitating? Perhaps the things that have always helped you avoid difficult thoughts and feelings in the past (be they alcohol, drugs or prescription medication, TV, the internet or computer games, sex and relationships, or anything else) are no longer working for you? You’re not alone.
My aim as a therapist is to help you to live a better life, however that may look for you. This includes helping you to build resilience, allowing you the choice to turn away from thoughts that aren’t helpful, focussing instead on the people, activities and ways of being that would help you move towards a richer and fuller life.
I work with a broad range of issues including panic and anxiety, fear of change, childhood and adult trauma, depression, anger, relationship doubts and challenges, grief, sexuality, existential crises and feelings of hopelessness.
I provide a safe and accepting space to enable you to explore overwhelming and difficult thoughts and feelings, and to develop tools by which to resolve them or lessen the impact they have on you. By working with you to discover what might give your life meaning and purpose, and what your values, goals and motivations might be, I can help you find the motivation you need to take the steps, however small at first, towards a more fulfilling life.
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor offering short and long term therapy.
My first session
Our first session will be for 30 minutes and cost £30. In this initial session we will both determine whether we would like to work together.
I will ask you to describe your presenting issues, so please find a quiet space for this session where you will not be disturbed.
