About me and my therapy practice
Are you exhausted and overwhelmed by life recently? Are you tiring yourself out with all this searching? What are you distracting yourself from? What if searching for your ‘problem’ is part this? Lets pause and give google a break for now. It’s our human instinct to strive to be better and to find meaning and purpose in our lives. You can find that. Through rewriting your old scripts and connecting with your authentic self. If there's still a part of you resisting, lets use it and invite all the parts in on the conversation. Those limiting beliefs are holding you back, but they can be reframed.
Living in this cycle of anxiety is tiring, the reassurance seeking and avoidance can be really consuming. Through exploring this, we can slow the pace down and start using it as a resource. Together, we can find solutions to build your confidence, improve relationships, and reach your true potential.
Our true need is to be seen, heard and uniquely expressed. As a Therapist of 10 years, I am ready to sit with you and guide you through this current experience. I'm ready when you are. I trust that you will know when the time is right for you.
Working with individuals on a weekly basis, is most effective for the therapeutic change process. I provide weekly 50 minute sessions.
Lets face it, attending therapy can be hard work. Sometimes, people need more guidance than others. Whether you are struggling to know what to say, or struggling to know what to filter out, I will guide you by asking questions and gently enquiring into your experience. Therapy is about making sense of our internal worlds, so that we can be more self aware and develop meaningful connections to our outer worlds.
Therapy is set at your pace, working on the areas you choose to focus on. It is a commitment, a commitment to future you, who knows that you can learn to feel and live in a healthier way.
My first session
Our first interaction, usually will be a brief telephone call. This call is to see if we are a good fit. I will answer any questions you may have, and I will tell you a little bit about how I work. This is not a therapy session, it's an opportunity to see if we could develop an effective working relationship. I appreciate the anxiety you may have, especially if you are new to therapy. If after this free 15 minute phone consultation you wish to continue, we would book a time and date for our first session. The first session is an opportunity for us to determine what you would like to get out of therapy, so setting some goals can be useful. This is usually an assessment session, so I would ask more questions initially to determine our focus and formulate a treatment plan.
