About me and my therapy practice
From 13th April I will offer face to face sessions at Stonesfield near Witney. I have put Covid procedures in place to reduce transmission. I work online using Zoom or telephone for times when face to face sessions are not possible.
The most important aspect of successful therapy is the relationship between the counsellor and client. It is important that you get a sense of what I am like and so I offer an initial session of 40 minutes which is free of charge to help you to decide.
I work with adults and young adults on an individual basis in face-to-face therapy. I work in both on an open-ended and a short term basis. There is a wide range of reasons why people come to me for counselling, but here are some examples: depression, anxiety, bereavement, low self-confidence, self-harm, job loss, miscarriage, trauma. My initial training was Psychodynamic and we would explore your early years or events from the past to help us to understand how you got where you are today. I look at what is happening for you using Attachment theory too. In addition I use Mindfulness, if you would find this helpful. I adapt the way that I work to suit the needs of each individual.
My first session
The first session is free of charge and an opportunity for you to see whether how it feels to work with me. This will help you to choose whether I am the right therapist for you. I will talk a little about how I work and you will have the chance to ask questions about how I work and counselling in general. There will be time for you to tell me about yourself and have a mini-session with me. There is no obligation to work with me after the first session.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer face-to-face sessions at Middle Aston. I will still offer online (Zoom) and telephone therapy if you prefer.
I am a relational, integrative counsellor with a background in the psychodynamic approach and attachment theory.
The most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship that you have with your counsellor. I work with the therapeutic relationship that we develop as well as exploring past events and childhood in order to make sense of what is happening for you now. Most of the time I work on a long-term basis, but sometimes people prefer to work for a limited number of sessions which I offer also.
My first session
The first session is free of charge. It is an opportunity for you to see how it feels to work with me to help you to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. The first session is shorter than usual at 40 minutes, whereas other sessions are 50 minutes. I will tell you about how I work and you will have the chance to ask me what to expect, about my training, about counselling in general. There is no obligation to continue to work with me after the first session.
