About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults and young people (secondary school age) on an individual basis in face-to-face therapy.  I work in both on a short-term basis (when someone wants to come for a limited number of weeks) and in an open-ended way (when someone wants to see how it goes and not limit the time, but end the work when they choose).  There is a wide range of reasons why people come to me for counselling, but here are some examples:  depression, anxiety, bereavement, addiction, self-harm, job loss, miscarriage, trauma.  My training was Psychodynamic, which means that I think that looking back at our early years can help us to understand how we got where we are today.  However, I also adapt the way that I work to suit the needs of each individual.
