About me and my therapy practice

It is OK to not be OK,  but you do not need to struggle on alone.

I am an experienced and qualified counsellor. When lockdown started I trained for. and moved, my practice online. I have been providing on line counselling since then.

I have found that for most people it works really well and they appreciate not having to travel or park. All you need is a smart phone, tablet, laptop or computer with camera, audio and a quiet space to talk.

For those who really can't cope with online I also offer a few face to face sessions in Exeter.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychologist who has trained as a counsellor/psychotherapist. I have been working with people with acquired brain injuries for over twenty years. I have provided training courses and conferences, through Headway Devon, for professionals to help them understand acquired brain injuries.

Brain injury does not just happen to the individual so I offer to  work with the individual with the brain injury but also their partner, carers and families to help everyone understand the changes and challenges.

I am here to help you to explore and understand the profound life changing consequences of your injury and to help you to navigate through to the best possible outcome.

I have experience of working with the hidden disabilities and long term challenges following a brain injury and am here to help you to face and deal with them.

Practice description

Since Covid and the first lockdown I have moved my practice  online via zoom. I have found that this works well for most clients and allows me to offer my specialist services to a larger geographical area. I do provide a few face to face session in Exeter on Wednesdays for those who cannot cope with zoom.

I am an integrative counsellor and have a holistic approach that is tailored to each individual that I work with. I include an ongoing assessment of the effects of the brain injury and work with you on ways to address these whilst also working on the emotions and psychological consequences of brain injury.

Sessions are 50 minutes long or 65minutes if I am working with a couple.

I offer a safe space to explore your issues with someone who understands brain injury and all the many challenges and frustrations that follow from it.

I can offer reports for legal and emploment purposes.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute consultation on the phone or on zoom to discuss how I can help you to help yourself.

Just give me a call or email me to arrange a suitable time.
