About me and my therapy practice

Based in Harrow, I am a supportive counsellor and psychotherapist with significant experience of helping adults, children and couples deal with difficulties that are causing them stress, anxiety, depression, anger or panic. I provide a confidential environment where you can feel safe in sharing your problems and where we can work together to identify a way forward. I have particular experience in helping clients work through relationship difficulties, traumatic experiences and losses, abuse, bullying, addictions, personality disorders and behavioural problems in children. My background makes me well placed to understand the complexity of issues faced by minority clients and the challenges linked to living and working in a country not your own.

I use an integrative approach which is adapted to your needs and which enhances your natural emotional resources. This approach considers factors that play important influences in people’s lives: relationship with parents, messages learnt from childhood, family ways of doing things, patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving as well as cultural and spiritual issues. By jointly exploring what has brought you to counselling I can build your awareness of the different aspects of your difficulties and their particular meanings for you. Encouraging you to consider alternative perspectives and actively experiment with different ways of thinking and responding may all help you find a way forward through your challenges.

I am a registered psychotherapist with BUPA, AVIVA, AXA Health and Cigna (different fee schedule applies). I am also a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) following their codes of ethics and professional practice guidelines.

My first session

The initial consultation is charged at the same rate as all the sessions.

At the initial consultation we will explore your needs and expectations and clarify the process of counselling and the way I work. Should we both feel that counselling would be appropriate at this time we will make arrangements for regular sessions for a mutually agreed period.
