About me and my therapy practice

If this is the first time you are seeking help, then you might be wondering if counselling is for you and how it works. If you’ve had counselling before, let me tell you about my approach to trying to help you.

I am a counsellor with an integrative relational orientation. This is what I do. I invite you to sit down with me and I help you to tell me what is troubling you. I listen carefully, making no judgements and helping you to make better sense of your emotions and thoughts. I help you see patterns and recognise how these impact on your life. We explore meanings and relationships with others and I help you clarify and strengthen your sense of self. This ‘simply talking, exploring and being truly heard’ can be helpful, enabling you to feel more vital, connected and valued, ready to live your life to the full.

Sometimes, people find having counselling in an office very challenging and prefer to be outdoors, so I also provide eco-therapy, where we work together outdoors in nature.

In addition to my private counselling practice, I have extensive experience as a pastoral tutor with young adults in a university setting as well as pastoral and professional care of adults in work-related settings in the UK and in a number of different areas of the world.

I hold the post-graduate Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (with merit) studied at Bath Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BCPC), which is accredited by UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapists) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also have an Advanced Certificate in Disordered Eating and am a Licensed Practitioner for the psycho-educational programme, 'Understanding your Eating'.
