About me and my therapy practice
As a qualified and experienced person-centred therapist, I have extensively worked with a diverse range of people, within different environments. Large organisations, including charities and corporations, have utilised my services to provide ongoing care and support for their employees and I regularly work privately with clients in my private practice. I am non-judgemental, empathic and always aim to understand how others view and experience the world. I support my clients fully as they explore any troubles that they may be facing in life and work together on how best to manage these. Based on personal preferences, I tailor my approach and integrate different styles of therapy in order to provide the most effective counselling for every individual client
The decision to start counselling can be a daunting one, especially if this is your first time experiencing therapy. Put simply, the very essence and core of this humanist approach is you. From the outset, you will lead the way on what we discuss and explore during your sessions. The focus may be on something specific, or you may be having reoccurring thoughts and feelings, which have a negative impact on your life and you wish to understand these better.
Whatever you wish to cover, you will set the pace and I will provide a non-judgemental, non-directive and confidential space for our sessions. My private practice is a safe haven environment, where you can explore any issues that you are currently struggling with, within a timescale that works for you.
My first session
During our time together, my friendly, down to earth approach aims to put you at ease and empower you to understand your feelings and experiences, as well as manage these going forward. I take pride in nurturing every one of my counsellor - client relationships, through authentic and genuine interactions, as I firmly believe this is the key to providing successful therapy.
Our first session will be an assessment which takes 30-40 minutes approximately. In this time we will have a chance to discuss further what has brought you to counselling and also what you can expect from our time together.
