About me and my therapy practice

I’ve worked as a Macrobiotic counsellor for over ten years, which has enabled me to intuitively read people and sense what is present. I realised that my natural empathy and insight, lends itself most to working with our emotional responses and feeling state and I now offer Person Centred counselling.

This approach is client led, founded wholly on trust, the connection between client and counsellor being profoundly integral to the process of psychological change and transformation.

Through presence empathy and compassion, I offer the safety of a warm, caring unconditional environment, where clients can explore the parameters of being themselves.

I offer telephone and face to face counselling and work locally for Counselling for Social Change and CLEAR - Emotional Trauma and Therapy Specialists.

Good listener, strong relational awareness, depth and ability to connect.

Insightful, instinctive, perceptive and astute.

Non-judgemental, non-defensive and willing to be challenged.

Solid, calm, kind and reliable.

Experience of stress management and associated coping strategies.

I have many years of rich life experience to bring to the counsellor role. As well as training in suicide prevention and mental health first aid, my work has covered the following; rape, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, psychosis, loss, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression.

Sessions have included looking at clients’ thoughts and belief systems, using Mindfulness grounding techniques for stress and anxiety and supporting them to recognise self-limiting patterns and habits. Also, facilitating clients to cultivate self acceptance, self worth and awareness, enables them to feel more empowered and able to move on in their life.

Personally, my Buddhist practice is integral to my path - I bring a great deal of enthusiasm, inspiration, commitment, depth and meaning to my work and relationships.
