About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome to my profile.

I am an integrative therapist, both registered and accredited with the BACP, providing counselling and psychotherapy for a wide range of issues. I have many years of experience in this field.

I have diverse experience from my roles as a crisis counsellor, a university counsellor, a therapist for a local counselling and psychotherapy trust, a lecturer and my years in private practice.

Through a calm, attentive and supportive approach I can help you to air and explore your feelings and thoughts and find ways to better cope with day to day life. Should you wish to, we can then go on to explore more deeply what is troubling you. This process can help you to view your life from a different perspective.

For more information on my approach, qualifications and training please visit my website: www.dorchestertherapy.co.uk

Please contact me with any queries or to arrange your free initial consultation.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

Your initial, no obligation session will last 30 minutes and is free of charge. I understand that the idea of this first session, especially if it's your first time in therapy, may feel daunting and that you may feel anxious. This is all natural. However, it may help to know that I aim to provide a calm, non-judgmental, supportive space for you to share what brings you to counselling/psychotherapy and what you hope to achieve from your therapy. You will get an idea of my approach and whether you feel comfortable with me and I will be able to make sure that I'm the right person to help you.

Should we agree to continue then the first stage of our work together will involve taking a 'history' to gather information on your past and to clarify your current circumstances (including childhood, important relationships and events, health issues etc.) as well as exploring your expectations and hopes/goals for therapy. We will decide on an approach that feels right for you, and to keep the therapy focused, we may decide to have a review after a set number of sessions.

My first session

I offer a free initial, no obligation consultation of 30 mins.

Fees for weekly, ongoing sessions are then £55 for individual therapy.
