About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Maeve. I am an experienced Play Therapist with many years of experience working with children and young people.
I work with a non directive, child centered approach.
I aim to support children and young people and provide the opportunity to ‘play out’ their feelings and express themselves in a safe environment where they can make sense of their emotions.
Play Therapy supports children and young people in understanding muddled feelings and upsetting events that they haven’t had the chance to work through.
Rather than having to explain what is troubling them, as adult therapy usually expects, children and young people use play and creative arts to communicate at their own level and at their own pace, without feeling interrogated or threatened.
