About me and my therapy practice
My name is Charlie and I’m an integrative counsellor based in Cardiff. My own experience of counselling has led me to the conclusion that no single form of therapy is better than the rest. I believe that the type of counselling you need depends on who you are and what you bring to therapy and can change over time. That’s why in my own practice I integrate humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy to suit the individual I’m working with. Most importantly, I create a safe, confidential space for you to bring whatever you need to therapy and explore it at your own pace. You are very much in the driving seat: I am there to listen non-judgementally and to facilitate your own efforts to make meaningful changes to your life. Our work might involve looking at the past and exploring the unhelpful ways in which your past is affecting your present. We might look at empowering tools and techniques to help you better understand difficulties and manage distress. Everybody is different. I am a fully insured, qualified psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a gentle, empathic person with a genuine curiosity about others and a passion for improving their wellbeing.
