About me and my therapy practice
As things start to open up again you might be finding yourself feeling more anxious, or wanting to address things you’ve put aside during lockdown. We’ve all been operating in some level of survival mode over the last year or so, and are only just starting to process what we’ve been through and are still dealing with.
Therapy can help provide grounding and stability, and connect you with what you can control- how you respond to difficult situations, what helps you feel supported and how you can look after yourself and others.
The relationship between counsellor and client is fundamental to therapy. I offer an accepting, understanding and genuine relationship, and a space that is yours. I provide a rare experience of being truly listened to without judgement. In this supportive relationship you can begin to develop a better, kinder relationship to yourself and others.
I am a professionally trained, qualified and accredited person-centred humanistic therapist. I have a particular interest and experience in working with LGBTQ+ and queer clients and young people (over 18).
I have nearly a decade of experience providing counselling in different settings- further education, young adult wellbeing services, and mental health charities. I offer therapy for individuals in a safe, confidential and accepting environment on a short-term or long-term basis depending on your needs
My first session
An initial appointment with me is an assessment for both of us, to see how we might work together. It will give me a sense of what's bringing you for therapy, and the context you're coming from.
