About me and my therapy practice
I work with individuals struggling emotionally due to events or issues from the past or the present which might be affecting them negatively.
Therapy can help you learn about what you’re feeling, why you might be feeling it, and how to cope.Therapy also offers a safe place to talk through life challenges such as relationship issues, grief, parenting difficulties, or family struggles.
If you are experiencing overwhelm, fatigue, disproportionate anger or resentment, anxious or intrusive thoughts, apathy, hopelesness and depression, therapy might help reduce their effects by giving you new insight and coping strategies.
I am committed to assist you on your journey of self-discovery by offering a safe and confidential space to really hear and understand your story. During sessions we’ll identify what diminishes and what augments your life, explore personal or relational conflicts past and present and discuss any emotional issues which negatively impact your life. The ultimate goal of counselling is to build emotional resilience, develop new resources and coping strategies and to empower you to take action.
I work both indoors, online and outdoors.
Outdoor/Wilderness Therapy is a form of therapy which is delivered outdoors, its purpose is to allow the individual to experience the restorative effect of nature whilst reflecting on the issues that have been affecting him or her. Spending time in nature directly affects the parasympathetic nervous system and can have a calming and relaxing effect, heightening self-awareness and increase a sense of wellbeing.
Similar to traditional therapy, nature based therapy’s goal is to increase a persons emotional resilience and flexibility in the face of adversity whilst also re-establishing a persons connection with nature and their inner self.
My first session
Prior to our first session I offer a free 20 minute conversation over the phone during which you can find out more about how I work and if what I offer would be suitable for what you are bringing.
