About me and my therapy practice

My aim is to allow the sense of accepting where you are at this moment. People are not considered ill or wrong. From this position, with support, we can outline how we relate in the here and now and the affects of historical relationships. Awareness is built around feelings and body sensations. direction of change if desired, is in the direction and pace of the individual. Awareness is extended to initiate creativity and a sense of what is needed now and next. I work in Bath and Exeter. I qualified in 1999 and have been working in private practice and primary health care. I have worked for both Rethink, Mind and at UWE. I work with individuals, couples and groups and with issues ranging from relationship issues, anxiety and personality disorders.

Practice description

I qualified as Gestalt therapist in 1999. I work with individuals, couples and families. As a Gestalt therapist we can look at how we relate to each other and the world around us. Being in the world and connecting is very much how we as social beings live, and if this is disrupted then life can become difficult.

Awareness of how and who we are will be a large part of how our sessions form. Further aspects of how we wish to be and how we can get there are also integral to how we will work together.

Sessions and direction are very much lead by the client, with support and input from me. This being from the view that it is the client whom needs to find direction for themselves and create the life they wish to lead.

My first session

The first few sessions will primarily be about getting to know each other and assessing how to relaxed we can be together. This obviously comes about through trust, connection, understanding and challange. Following ways we can deepen those aspects.
