About me and my therapy practice

Hello. COVID continues to disrupt and pose challenges to our mental and psychological wellbeing. Lockdowns, isolation and social impositions have put increased strains on our relationships. Much of this is been due to uncertainties created by the unknown; how it will end including when and what will survive. The ensuing increases in stress levels and anxieties has ramped up the prevalence of depression, low self esteem, low confidence and increases in levels of sadness due to our many loses. They place considerable increases in pressure upon our personal, home, work and social relationships.

Just as in walking, once learnt we don't think about every step we take and this frees us up to invest more energy in other walks of life. Most of our time is lived on autopilot. However, since our brains are highly plastic, behavioural patterns can be altered to respond differently allowing us to face new challenges.

On autopilot, old coping skills bring up our unresolved conflicts so old issues resurface and they make what was previously bearable seem difficult and intolerable to manage. With no rules on how to navigate out of this, it is hard to put the pieces back together. Weakened and depleted, our resources require additional help and support to restore and heal and since our mental health and wellbeing is in distress, it becomes harder to move on. This is something I can help with.

You can call or email me for an initial consultation at a reduced rate and together we will safely explore how to get you where you want to be.

Practice description

I have more than ten year’s clinical experience as a therapeutic counsellor. Although I am Psycho dynamically trained, I also use CBT and SFBT. In addition I have attended many courses for further development. I work in private practice and with Mental Health Charities in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and North London. I have many decades of life experience and I speak Hindi, Urdu, Kachi, Gujarati, Swahili as well as English.

My work with charities involves young adults between the ages of ten and twenty-five years, most of whom are students. I follow strict ethical and professional standards and I maintain confidentiality at all times.
