About me and my therapy practice
Just talking about your feelings could be helpful. Counselling can be an opportunity for us to explore the emotional difficulties you may be experiencing. I believe that given sufficient support and the right environment, you’ll be able to resolve issues and find a solution to the challenges you face. Counselling can be an opportunity for you to try to understand why you’re feeling what you’re feeling, or find a different way of coping, or start knowing yourself, and that’s done through our therapeutic relationship.
I’m a qualified Counsellor, with a holistic approach. I offer confidential talking therapy in a safe, relaxed environment. I work in a person-centred way; exploring how the world is for you and how you feel. In the therapy room, you are the expert in your thoughts and feelings. I’ll listen without judgement and try to understand and empathise. I make no assumptions about you or your life. I accept you for who you are.
I only work with individuals over 18 and sessions are available on Friday, between 8.30am and 8.00pm.
The first session (30 mins, £15) is a chance for us to talk about what counselling is and how we might work together. It’s useful for you to have a sense of what talking therapy is so you can decide if what I can offer fits with what you feel you need. We can discuss what you expect from counselling and what the focus of our piece of work together might be. It’s also important to both of us that I explain the professional standards that I work to.
After that, it’s useful to meet regularly, usually every week, for 50 minutes (£35). When we meet we can decide how many sessions we’ll need and commit to a programme of support for you.
