About me and my therapy practice

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Andrea and I am a qualified Counsellor and Ecotherapist offering you a warm, empathic and compassionate approach to therapy.

I work from my garden summerhouse, the local countryside and my own local allotment.

I offer either short or long term sessions, incorporating mindfulness, animal assisted therapy and horticultural therapy. I'm here to listen to you, support you and empower you to improve your wellbeing.

I have great respect for anyone who recognises they are struggling and decides to embark upon their therapy journey. To ask for help takes courage and you've taken the first step by searching for support.

My offer to you is time and space, confidential and non judgemental in its nature. An opportunity for you to explore your world in a way that keeps you right at the centre. You get to choose your pace and your style of therapy in order to facilitate your autonomy.

Practice description

I offer a wide selection of therapy from indoor face to face sessions in my summerhouse; walk and talk sessions in the local countryside; animal assisted sessions with my dog Harry; outdoor therapy at my allotment; phone or online sessions, thus giving you a variety of choice. Being outdoors in nature can support you in accessing the words, language and metaphor to delve deeper into difficult feelings that may arise.

Whether that is sessions up at an allotment digging whilst talking through feelings, or walking alongside a canal using the water and surroundings as metaphor.

Or it may be that we bring along Harry my dog for animal assisted therapy sessions. These sessions support a client in many ways. We can sit alongside Harry whilst talking or walk together whilst Harry remains on the lead as part of the session. Harry has a very calming nature and is sensitive to each individuals needs. I am qualified to incorporate Harry within sessions after having completed my canine assisted therapy training.

However you choose to go forwards it will always be at your pace and in surroundings that meet your needs. Nature can heal and nurture and I draw on all of our surroundings to support your journey.

My first session

I offer a free initial 20 minute confidential phone call for you to discuss what you are looking for and to gain further insight and information to make an informed choice.

Prior to our first session I will send you my therapeutic agreement and supplementary paperwork.  This will give you the opportunity to read through and bring to your initial session anything that you need to discuss regarding working together.

Sessions are 60 mins and can be increased to 90 mins for all outdoor sessions if needed.
