About me and my therapy practice
I am sure you would like to know a little about me before booking a session.
I became a counsellor because I have a real interest in people, how they think and a wanting to be able to understand and help with their problems. I use my skills to support my clients across a wide range of difficulties they may be experiencing.
I have a history of working extensively in the corporate sector as a PA to Management Executives and as such have an in-depth understanding of the pressures of corporate life, the importance of confidentiality and well founded experience in balancing work and home life.
I believe that my therapeutic approach can really help people and I have seen lives transform for the better, having received my own therapeutic counselling.
My private practice is in the heart of Stamford, discreet and with parking. With regards to COVID 19, every precaution is taken to ensure that sessions present minimal risk to both client and therapist. A safe distance of 2 meters is observed within sessions. In addition, facial masks and hand sanitisers are offered to clients. Sessions can be held remotely via Skype video conferencing if preferred.
My first session
Prior to our initial session, I will carry out an assessment; this is usually performed over the telephone and is free of charge. This is designed to gain a better understanding of your motivations in seeking therapy, as well as your hopes and goals for our work together. It is also a good opportunity to ask me any questions which you may have about me, how I practice and what our sessions will typically entail.
Following on from the assessment; should you wish to continue your therapeutic journey, we can schedule regular sessions at times which are suitable to you. Our first session presents a great opportunity for us to establish rapport and see how it feels working together. In my experience, a positive client / therapist relationship is a powerful tool in achieving positive outcomes.
